Aubrey Strosnider was born in Sydney, Ohio. He went to High School at Dayton Prep in Dayton, Ohio. In the year immediately after high school, Strosnider worked at a foundry breaking pig-iron to get in football shape. He then went on to play for the University of Dayton starting in the year 1923. He was 5-11 and weighed about 165 pounds playing Guard for the UD Flyers. He was a Commerce and Finance Major who was involved in the monogram club, commerce club, senior farewell committee, and the dance committee.

College career- In the three years he played at UD, the team won 25games. Half of these games came by shutouts. During his playing time, Dayton was at the top of Catholic Schools in the Midwest.

Post-college- After his playing days at UD, Strosnider returned to UD in 1935 as a member of the coaching staff for UD’s football team coaching under Harry Bajuan.  In addition to coaching at UD, Strosnider coached at Cleveland area schools Notre Dame Cathedral Latin (NDCL), Benedictine, and St. Ignatius. His teams were Cleveland Champions 15 times, conferences champions 19 times, and were ranked in the top 10 in Ohio 23 times. Strosnider’s work ethic rubbed off on numerous athletes he coached as indicated by the 33 All-Americans, 56 All-Ohioans, 126 All Scholar-Athletes, 13 NCAA Champions, and 4 Olympians that all played under his watch.
