BILL UHL SR. - Men's Basketball - 1952-1956

While at The University of Dayton Bill Uhl was a dominate basketball player. Uhl was a 7 foot 245 pound one man wrecking crew. Uhl was born on January 7, 1933.  He helped lead the Flyer’s to an NIT birth by averaging 18.9 points per game in his senior. In a February 20, 1955 win over rival Xavier Musketeers Uhl posted a game high 16 points in Dayton’s 71-60 victory. He scored 31 points against both Loyola and Miami of Ohio in that same year.

After graduating Uhl was a part of the NBA draft but declined the opportunity to take his game to the next level.  His senior year he had began selling insurance for his father, and soon after graduating started his own insurance company known as the William G. Uhl Insurance Agency. He married the love of his life Cynthia and began their family. He had five children, one boy and four girls, all of whom are proud Dayton Alumni. His five children have made him the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren.
